Eco-Friendly Cars for the New Year

new years eco-friendly cars

For 2013, car manufacturers like Chevrolet, Mitsubishi, and Nissan are planning on making amends to their electric cars to propagate the usage of eco-friendly cars among the masses. With increasing awareness on the environmental issues, many people have started making amends in their lifestyles. So eco-friendly cars have gained a lot of importance in the recent past. To promote this trend among more people, these companies have decided to make a few amends in the technology that they use in their cars.

Eco-Friendly Cars Without Cd Players

With the drop in the sales of CDs, many car companies such as Chevrolet have decided to remove the CD player option from their cars. According to manufacturers, many people solely burn CDs for their cars and this generates a lot of e-waste. Therefore, instead of CD players, the cars will have more facilities so that the driver can connect his or her phone to the car system. This will not only reduce e-waste, but will make the care more energy-efficient as well.

Promoting Natural Gas and Eco-Friendly Promotional Items

The biggest advantage of using an electric car is the conservation of fossil fuels. To make this system even more eco-friendly in nature, many car companies are planning on producing cars that will work on propane as well. They are also trying to get propane stations set up for the people so that they can access fuel for their hybrid cars easily.

Economically Appealing Eco-Friendly Cars

To make the electric cars more appealing to all sections of the society, companies such as Nissan and Mitsubishi are planning on introducing cars that will cost between $20,000 and $25,000, while Mitsubishi I-MiEV will be sold at around $20,000 by the dealers in a few days’ time. Nissan is planning on introducing a cheaper version of their car, the Leaf, at the upcoming Detroit car show..

The government supporting the car companies

In order to promote electric cars among the US citizens, the Obama Administration has taken up the initiative to reduce the taxes on their purchase as well. The Administration will try to convert the present tax credit, which is around $7,500, into rebate. Furthermore, the Administration is also planning on encouraging the usage of other eco friendly promotional items. Therefore, they may bring in policies that will benefit all the green businesses. These policies have not been announced as yet, but the tax rebate on electric cars is expected to come into play in the next few months.
