Here's some news to delight tall environment enthusiasts. A recycling contest among New Orleans schools has been organized by Progressive Waste Solutions and the New Orleans Saints. The program kicked off on Wednesday, September 25 this year. The top 3 schools in New Orleans participating in the program will get an opportunity to participate in the Saints Training Camp.

Different Schools to Participate in the Recycling Contest

Some of the schools that have already registered for the program include, Gretna No. 2 Academy, Patrick Taylor Academy, Adams Middle School, T.H. Harris Middle School, Haynes Academy, Airline Park Academy, Metairie Academy, Riverdale High School, Riverdale Middle School, Butler Elementary, Einstein Charter School, New Orleans Math and Science High School, Morris Jeff Community School, Mildred Osbourne, Lagniappe Academy, Crocker College Prep, Cohen College Prep, Slyvanie Williams, Paul Habans Charter School, Akili Academy, Renew Dolores Aaron Elementary School, Renew Scitech, Renew Cultural Arts Academy, Renew Accelerated High School, Renew Schaumburg, Kipp New Orleans Leadership Academy, and Kipp McDonogh 15 Middle School.

The announcement of the contest was made at a press conference at Airline Park Academy which happens to be one of the schools participating in the contests. Rita Benson LeBlanc, Saints' owner, and Julie Tufaro from Progressive Waste Solutions, while speaking to the students emphasized upon the importance of recycling. LeBlanc expressed the excitement about collaboration with the Progressive Waste Solutions and hoped that the recycling contest will be an exercise in education of the youth and impact the future of the community.

A recycling bin will be given by Progressive Waste Solutions to each of the registered schools. The collections would be measured each week. Some of the items to be recycled include steel and aluminum cans along with other items like plastics, cardboard, magazines, newspapers, and other similar waste. It is expected that the contest will offer a great experience and learning opportunity to students.

Promoting Recycling Contest Among Students With Eco-Friendly Items

Progressive Waste Solutions Ltd. is a recycling organization that has taken great interest in promoting the concept of recycling among students with eco friendly promotion items. New Orleans Saints is another organization that takes interest in promoting environmental consciousness in schools. It is evident that the organizations can make a huge difference in the promotion of environmental consciousness in schools.

The students would be able to visit the website to access more information about issues relating to recycling and the items that are worth recyclable. The students can track their progress in the competitions for 16th October, 6th November, and 27th November.
