sustaining the ecosystem

Wildlife refers to undomesticated animal species, including all organisms that grow or live wild in an area. It is necessary to reiterate that humans alone do not make up the ecosystem. However, sustaining the ecosystem is a very important part of man's duty. The ecosystem is made up of living and non-living organisms, and the living organisms comprise humans, animals, and even plants. Also, it is a fact that every factor in the Ecosystem directly or indirectly impacts one another, which does not exclude Wild Life, ultimately contributing to the Ecosystem, either positively or negatively.

This makes us understand that a blow to one of the parts of the Ecosystem is a blow to the whole Ecosystem Composition. However, if the contribution of one of the factors of the Ecosystem is not known, abuse or mistreatment of that factor is inevitable. This leads us to the question:

The Essence Of Wildlife In The Ecosystem

The wildlife reduces the break out of destructive forest wildfires, particularly the plant-eating wild animals, as they feed on grasses that can fuel fire, through grazing. An illustration of this will is one of the World's largest grazers, the white rhinoceros in Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park, South Africa, which has been known to reduce the heavy outbreak of fire when rain falls, which causes the rapid growth of Grasses.

Also, Wild Life plays a very key role in boosting the fertility of Soil by improving its nutrients. Their ding and urine help to boost and increase the nutrient content of the soil, which ultimately enhances the agricultural produce.

The essence of wildlife is not limited to the two points above. However, these points highlight the fact that wild life is a stakeholder in the sustainability of the ecosystem. How, then, do we protect the life of these factors?

Conserving The Wildlife

One important way to conserve Wildlife is to ensure a safe Habitat for them. That's more like the first thing they need. Where to stay and live, and the environment suits their living conditions. This can be done by caring for forests, rivers, wetlands, and other places where wildlife thrives. A habitat is a place where organisms grow and reproduce without getting bothered. It, therefore, is important to ensure their continued existence by protecting their habitat.

The last point this article will dwell on is that eco-friendly products should be used in Agricultural processes. Many fertilizers that supposedly aid farming eventually become life-threat to wildlife when they consume sprayed plants and water.

Wildlife is part of life in this space. We should conserve them and not drive them into extinction through negligence and ignorance. They play important roles in the Sustainability of the Ecosystem, and if they are extinct, the ecosystem surely will feel their absence.
